There are weather cycles that are much longer than several generations of humans live.Mine will be with some Brahmas, so I've got the influence of docile birds covered It's not cold for long in OR, at least not currently, who knows what the climate will be in 5 years. I read this entire thread, looking at getting a dozen or so of these to free rangeon the ranch. Pretty interesting birds! There was a guy on YouTube that crossed a Fayoumi roo with a Rhode Island Red hen and called them Red Pharaohs. I am trying to find the best source for this breed and combing the net.
The price of the pullet chicks has really went up from two years ago. I can't remember what I paid for mine but I think it was somewhere around 4$ and some change per pullet chick but don't quote me on that. I know it wasn't 6+ dollars per bird tho.
