You know, I'm going to have to say those are silkie crosses. Everything about that face looks like one. The old man might not be joking in that he probably doesn't know any better. Old age brings wisdom but it also brings old ways. He can fully believe it himself but doesn't mean he knows it might not be true. Like a labradoodle... it may look cool but not really anything that will breed true. Only way to tell is to try to hatch eggs from the pair and grow up the kids to see what they look like. Since the two look so similar though... they are probably siblings. Thus, your hatch rates might not be that good as you'll have some inbreeding gong on. Sorry but you can try to breed them for yourself fist.
