Hello Backyardikens! I'm new here but have already enjoyed the site. My grandchildren decided they wanted chickens. (We adults did more.) So, I spent the last month researching web sites, vendors, terminolgy, breeds, coops, etc. The children's former 8' x 8' playhouse is being willingly sacrificed and will be converted into their coop. (Because money IS an object around here.) We have fairly good carpentry skills, so I think we can make a run and most other carpentry related projects. We all are looking forward to caring for the girls. During my research I came across the Back Yard Chicken web site and all its information and this enlightening forum. This site is now my go-to site when I need to find out a whole lot of stuff I don't know. So I'm thanking you in advance for all the future help and for all the information I've already gotten from the forum.
