electric fence does not hold goats HELP

No climb horse fence is my friend. Combo panels are good too, but the ground has to be mostly flat. Around here they just seesaw until the wire ties break.

I have mine in electric netting from premiere. They don't go near it. I guess the first couple of times they tried to chew on it made an impression.

again I will say it needs to be the correct fence, they will not stay in 2-3 strands of regular fence wire, you cannot get it tight enough, read my previous post,I kept sheep and goats in that fence for years

Try doubling the wire...that should hold them while they hang...although I use a game gambrel...oh wait you meant live animals...I couldn't stop myself...get a bigger charger for one and more strands...those little ones work okay on dog pens but that is about it.

I had a four strand wires on posts for my two Nubians and they got out in a flash and a scream LOL. After that we had cattle paneling with a single wire on top for horses. Havent had any problems since then until we got rid of them.

We have been using electric fencing for 8 months now and have been keeping the goats contained nicely. Our does are the only ones in the fence, the bucks are in our version of fort knox! Our fencing is spaced 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, and we use the fi-shock SS-9000x. the goats know where the gates are and will only come near the line at those points, they dont even stick their nose over to say hi where there is electricity. For our bucks we use 5' cattle fencing with 3 strand electric on the inside. We have one climber, that has not even tried to test the fence.

Good Luck!

Electric fence will hold goats but it needs to do more than shock you good. You should be hitting your knees if you touch the fence and have something like 5 strands. Then you'll keep goats in. Probably.

There's not really anything goats can't escape if they get bored enough.

Also electric keeps dogs out wonderfully. I put a strand of it around the bottom of my plastic arena fencing because every time I'd go riding the neighbors dog would slip under the fence and try to chase my horse. The rest of our pastures are all horse guard electric tape. A lot of people with sheep add a lower strand of electric specifically for keeping coyotes and dogs out.
