**Electric skillet method-*Open for further questions-starting page 26

My DH about busted a gut when I told him about this thread... I think the visual he had of all these people scrambling to empty their deepest darkest cupboards in search of old skillets and forgotten crockpots was more than he could handle...

Can't wait to see how this all works out

seminolewind-MissPrissy brought that up in post #29 and I added a towel under them. I do like your idea of a wire rack though! I may have to try that next time.

I am not at all electrically inclined myself, but I do know that some folks have played with using dimmer switches to decrease the power of the pumps in their espresso machines so as to bring the pressure down to the correct bars....

That made me think it might be worth a try. If I can find a skillet with a glass top at the thrift store I will try it out and get back to y'all.

And, maybe rheostat is what I really meant??? Hmmmm....I'll see what I can figure out.

Today is day 7. I have 10 that look good and 2 questionable.

Here is a questionable one. Can anyone tell if it is good or not?

A good one:

I recandled that egg this morning while it was dark out. It would have been in the last couple hours of day 8. The egg looks the same. It may have grown a tad but, I'm not sure. There is diffentley something there but, is it a chick or just a mass-did something go wrong? I guess time will tell. The other questionable one I'm beginning to think is lost but, will wait until day 14 to decide, unless it starts to smell.

Kitty, I don't toss anything until day 14 and I know for sure by then nothing is going to come from the egg. Good luck! I'm sending good vibes for you!

I'm watching this thread with interest, and amusement with all the activity it is generating. I must say, good luck and I love your ingenuity.
I noticed on the last pic of candled eggs that one has a name 'Clara' written on it...is that to identify what hen it sprouted from, or are you naming your chickens before they hatch?

It's the hen that laid it. Although if naming them before they hatched worked everyone would have names on their eggs. Just think we could all get what we wanted!

Seriously, I had wanted an egg from each pullet. I managed to get one from 11 of them. Zoe wasn't laying that week and I don't think she is now either.

I put a second one of Bully's in instead.
