electric went out is my hatch ruined?

I'm convinced my broody had some serious persuasive powers. My girls always laid pretty evenly in two different boxes. Then one of my Aussies went broody and every single egg got laid in the box she wanted to nest in. I think she just talked and nagged and harangued the others until they laid where she wanted them to.

the two next boxes were side by side and only had a short 1 in divider, she rolled them over to her box. She hatched out 5 babies right now and they were all born a new chick every two days cause she kept stealing them. LOL
she thinks eats are tooo precious to eat

eggs, opps
it took 7 days to get our 5 chicks,
1 on friday, 2 sunday, one tuesday one friday, and yes there is still one egg to go.
(these were not my incubator eggs)

Seems like every time I have something incubating, hatching, or brooding, the power co. decides they need to cut the power to move lines, upgrade, etc. Now I understand that they can't control storms, vehicles hitting poles, etc, however at times power will go out. I am now on the notification list for scheduled outages. They now know important it is to me to have power. I get a call from them at least 24hrs in advance. If the power is going to be off at least 4 hrs, they even offer to furnish a generator and fuel to run it. Very nice and professional people to work with.

After hurricane Fran, I was without power for 9 days. I had a generator, so no problem running necessities such as the water pump, refrigerator, freezers, and my chicken related if you really call that a necessity lol. To make it safer and easier I put in one of these devices. All I have to do is plug in the generator, flip the disconnect, then go inside and flip the transfer switch from utility to generator.

It cost about $300.00 for the parts and about a day to install it. I also had it inspected which cost another $60.00 for the permit.
