Agreed!Honestly I'd be more leery eating a storebrought egg raw. I'm willing to eat my own eggs a bit runny but i'm hesitant to do so with storebrought

Well supposedly chicks develop a good immune system the more exposure to the outside.No. My chickens have healthy immune systems. Exposure to the environment makes healthy chickens
I would personally rather live free and die young than live my entire life in a cage. My chickens handle predators fine, regardless
Mine would be gone in days, we have a lot of predators on our property regularly. They have more then big enough pens to live happilyNo. My chickens have healthy immune systems. Exposure to the environment makes healthy chickens

My MIL is a nut case anyway. Let her have her tasteless store bought eggs.Agreed!
Days?! Maybe 24 hours over here in the country. I’ve got a lovely huge hawk that just does laps waiting for his chance. Not to mention the raccoons and coyote I KNOW are behind my chicken yard.Mine would be gone in days, we have a lot of predators on our property regularly. We've seen multiple coyotes, bobcats, and gave a hawk that lives on our property oh and the eagles. I give them days because there's 32 of them and 9 roosters....Days?! Fight or flightI’m curious how do your chickens handle predators?
If they're happy, that's what matters I supposeMine would be gone in days, we have a lot of predators on our property regularly. They have more then big enough pens to live happily
Idk how well my bantam rooster would fare. He’d try for sure, but these coyotes are big and plentiful.Fight or flight
If a predator gets anywhere close at night they simply fly away, and if a predator shows up during the day they fight to whatever extent is necessary to either remove the threat or get away. I've watched a game hen tackle a fox directly in the face before. In fact she's done the same to me too
Lots of chickens are fully capable of handling themselves in rugged environments

Where in this world are you located?I've had random chickens join my flock before and it doesn't bother me at all.
