ELI5 Why do so many ppl treat chickens expendable??

Idk how well my bantam rooster would fare. He’d try for sure, but these coyotes are big and plentiful.
Although I saw with my own eyes 2 hens and rooster take down a hawk attacking another hen.
I think bantams might be endangered by the common cat. I've only ever attempted bantams once and they didn't make it unfortunately, I think it was a cat. Full sized chickens are obviously cat immune though

Where in this world are you located?
Please add your general geographical exact location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

This is an odd question out of nowhere. Why do you want my location?

Just to edit: not my chickens of course. My hens are definitely flight as opposed to fight. No most are freeze. That’s why they’re nice and protected. (As much as possible anyway).

I love bantams. My rooster is 1.8 lbs but THINKS hes a 10 feet tall 150 lb beast!

Bantams can be very nimble. Ask me how ik........

Of course it does depend on the bantam in question. Obviously a silkie isn't going to be as nimble as something like an old English game bantam

I know how you know. The same way I know lol. Mine are Cochins and old English. They’re fast and zig and zag. Not great jumpers though. Little stumpy legs n all.
