Don't laugh at me - does SSS stand for Shoot, Shovel and Shut up?

I have to agree with both sides, I know ... I know.

But case in point. Our neighbor lives 1/4 a mile away. She HAD nine large dogs, until my neighbor to the south caught the pack bringing down his yearling calves. My other neighbor to the west also made one disappear after they killed his poop zu and about 40 guineas. We are responsible for a few after they came barrelling around the corner of our house after my husband. These dogs are aggressive and since we live out of the city limits, the sheriff suggested SSS himself after we reported them when they charged us by our barn. I was told at that time she had been reported before because they had gone to the show barn during stock show season and killed some goats a few years back, or so he suspected.

She is now down to four, and doesn't care either way.

I have four children, two schnauzers, and our property is fenced. I do care either way. So, SSS or go and tell and have her treat us rudely or threaten to sue? Its he said, she said most of the time anyway. Keep your dogs put up and on your property or have them face the consequences. Because ultimately, it is them who suffer.

But, I don't "shoot" just because I think you might hurt something. If you're a friendly puppy who just got out one day and are happily wagging, I'll find you your owner. If you threatening to bite me or my kids, harm my livestock or otherwise being repeatedly destructive, you're gone. SSS. End of story. Obviously if you're a repeat offender, your owner doesn't care about you or others property.
