Elmont, NY new chicken parent.

Hello Everyone!!!

I’m so excited to be starting my backyard chicken journey!!! Anyone one from elmont or franklin square NY? I haven’t seen any online information on laws on chickens but I have family in nyc to adopt if it turns out I can’t have them. I called the town they haven’t gotten back to me yet.

So far I have

a 8-12 chicken coop and run
50sq feet I plan on 6 chicks.
THe Chicken Fountain(for coop)
Rodent proof feeder
Swing for coop

Brooder radiant heater
Chick grit
Chick feed
Electrolyte power for chicks
Chick feeder/water dispenser
Container brood box in cage (indoors)
Pine shavings

Beware prefab coops that say they can hold 6 birds. They do not. 50 sq foot is not enough space for 6 chickens.
