In Thomas Hardy's book The Trumpet Major, there is a passage which reads, "...included some fresh eggs of the elongated shape that produces cockerels when hatched...". Does anyone know if there is any truth in this?

ALL of my birds avoid the oyster shells, even when mixed with their feed. They're starting to collect at the base of the feeder. When sprinkled on the ground they simply get pounded into the dirt.You should provide free choice oyster shells for your laying hens.
