ML had asked me to share this Quote! Her suggestion it should be posted at parks, i fully agree.

Oh really? Ok~ will ask her. Thanks again for all!!!
I wanted to commend you on your efforts of fighting for the wildlife at your park! Plus taking in the poor goose who people picked on. How sad either children or adults picking on such small little animals/birds!

I want to personally thank you for fighting for them!!!! Looks like you new goosey girl has a wonderful home with you.

Oh, on the grit just put some in a bowl on the side for her to eat when she chooses. Because if she is grazing on your lawn she is also picking up some grit from that. Want to keep her as healthy as possible..

I seen the duck are you going to bring her home for your goosey?

I love the picture of your goosey with the sign!!!!!

Thanks RuRu! I think we will try to get the duck and give it a try! She also nibbles at dirt on the way from the pond to her outside pen each morning....is that ok? I'll try the grit in a separate dish, although she is eating her dry food with the grit sprinkled in it. I am SO HAPPY because she is gobbling down her greens again-- put them in her water today twice and she loved them! Thanks again for the info and the support! ;)

Eating dirt is part of what geese do! They get minerals and other things from it. She might not have been eating her food because there was the grit in there. I did that at one time and they left food in their bowls so then offered it in a side bowl and they ate their food and picked in the grit.
Now ducks will keep bugs slugs, snails and I believe that duck is the kind that eats snakes out of your garden. I had one duck that use to catch frogs and just run and beat it on the ground while the other ducks followed and tried pulling on parts to get I away!

Ha! Interesting!!!
I think I will try to grit in separate dish tomorrow.....
Well it would be fun to see if these two can become friends. I'll keep ya posted~
BTW~ what are those lovely geese called that you have a pic of with the ruffly, curly feathers? Love those!
