one of my chick has a red thingy between it legs i dont know if its an umbilical cord or what it just hatched about 5 minuets ago and it laying there asleep.DO i need to cut it off or leave it or what?

If it's attached to the egg and still wet, leave it alone. It will dry up and then you can snip it off.
