Emergency advice for a novice

The malpositioned chick has not made and progress on its shell but I can still see movement through its pip. So we will hope. And there are several mpre that have piped this morning. I'll kep yall posted

First Good Luck---It is exciting!!

Just some info on what I do-----I hatch Hundreds and Hundreds, about 2000 in the last few Months. When the eggs go into lock-down on day 18--I do Not open the incubator anymore until they All hatch or day 22 for NO reason. If a Chick looks like it needs help---if it will hang in there I will help it after the rest hatch or day 22! My hatch Rate is 95 to 100% on my cabinet and a little lower on my styrofoam. Again Good Luck!!

Again as stated in the post above yours----"""I""" Would NOT open the incubator for NO Reason till they all hatch or day 22. Wishing you the best Hatch.

I have had bantam eggs to hatch on day 19---they were fine when I took them out the incubator on day 22.

That is a personal choice. Alot of people don't move them out until after the hatch is complete. Some people move them out periodically. I assume your brooder is warmed up and ready to go? I personally remove mine at intervals now. I find they fluff up better in the brooder under the light and I had 7 or 8 in my bator at once waiting for the others and one got hurt bouncing around and chipped it's beak, I believe on the thermometer. So I don't let them build up in my bator anymore. I wait for a break in the zipping and pull out any that are warm and active. You do what's comfortable for you. If you pull them out before the hatch make sure your humidity is up and you do it quickly.

My wife called and there is one with a pea sized hole and its beak is real wet and is blowing bubbles. It is above the air sack line is this normal. She thinks it is having trouble breathing

It's quite possible if it is "blowing bubbles" that that egg did not loose enough moisture and the chick has breathed it in which may cause it to drown. I have not delt with this or seen it personally, so I can't say for sure, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Ok the one that was blowing bubbles did not make it. It got rolled over and fluid came out of the pip and dried sealing it in the egg first one to lose so far hope it's the last. Have 8 in the brooder right now
