EMERGENCY - CHICK BRAIN OUTSIDE OF HEAD??? PLEASE HELP!!

Did you (the op) decide if you thought this was in fact exposed brain? I have a new hatch that looks EXACTLY the same. And acting exactly the same. Ironically (or not) also Cochin. Well, 1/2 Cochin and half NN. I know what I think should be done. Which really sucks because , like yours, he seems otherwise fine. Such a bummer. He was very malpositioned and pipped on the side of the egg facing the bottom of the incubator. When I realized, he was stuck to the paper towel on the floor of the bator. I think it had been a while. Seemingly, all the amniotic fluid leaked when he pipped at the pointy end of the egg and with bator temps being high- despite lockdown humidity levels (65%) he dried to the paper towel and was shrink wrapped. But what a fighter- with a full assist and nearly 36 hours, he emerges without blood and there’s a big tumor type mass protruding out the top of his scull. It doesn’t look like Brain. But neither did yours to me. He is walking and chirping. Still in bator all alone. Has an incredible will to live. And the tumor- or brain matter- was nearly twice as big last night. It def went down over night. When assisting - because it’s located at the base of his skull ish- I did see it but assumed it was a chick who inherited moms naked neck. I did think it was strange being a recessive trait- but thought it happens. I was excited to see the little silly looking chick. I was right about one thing- it’s silly (and sad) looking. I would love some advice here. Has anyone ever heard of these guys living? If so, what quality of life ? Can they ever be with the flock? Do they “grow out of it” like someone on this thread mentioned? Although I am not sure how the brain could go back into the sealed skull. If it is in fact brain. I can post photos when I’m home. But for the immediate purposes - it is the exact same as the photos on this thread. Looks like the same chick even. Thanks I’m advance for any help. Sick to my stomach.

Every year I get some with gib, fat, juicy heads and neck and the swelling does go down. Can you post pictures of your chick?
Absolutely. As soon as I get home. It looks just like the one in the pics on this thread. Do you think that’s what the deal was with the one here? When I’ve seen exposed brain- it has looked like a brain rather than smooth like this.

@casportpony i had someone from home send it. Pic isn’t the best quality. Neither is the example of the way the bird is laying. The baby is up and moving around and active. Tough to tell based on this position but it’s true. Anyway, can you tell anything from this as far as sir sack or brain?
