Standing but kind of huddled. She is closing her eyes and breathing through her mouth. Barely coughing anymore, just every few minutes. Is she standing, sitting, laying on her side?
She disappeared for a while and I couldn't find her, I was convinced that she had died. Just now she showed up and is breathing normally! She seems very tired but is otherwise OK. She is walking around and pecking at things but is very slow and reserved. I gave her a handful of scratch and she didn't even run away when I walked up to her. Her crop does seem very full and a little jiggly, maybe the blood ran into it? I don't know. I will keep my eye on her though but she seems to be doing better. While you're waiting for roost time, I would get a [lace ready to separate her from the flock. water and food. If she's resting in the bushes it will be easy for you to check on her. I worry about the other girls pecking at her if she has blood on her.
She is doing well this morning! She has her color back and is talkative again. I kept them in the coop today just incase whatever attacked them came back.I'm so glad you gave an update. I've been worried about her!
I found 2 piles of feathers this afternoon, unfortunately one of which is a hen that Ive realized is now missing (the other is the hen this post was about). She was a real sweetheart. But I know know it was probably a fox or something. Rest in Peace Isabel.Good idea...I wonder if she tried to eat a wasp or something and got stung as she swallowed it. Causing the internal injury and a loud ruckus.
