Hi all,
I have a batch of 11 chicks that I hatched, not all the same breed. They are somewhere around 5-7 weeks old. Just a little while ago I heard my chickens going crazy. Upon checking I found a chick almost dead that kept sporaticaly flopping around and the mother hen was fighting it. I think she was fighting it just because it was acting weird. Then I realized that another chick seems to be having problems breathing. You can hear him sort of weezing as he breaths. Both these chicks are male French Black Copper Marans.
I have Mycoplasma in my flock. Also today has been a decently warm day and the bedding in the chicks pen has been rather dry and dusty it seems. Do you think either of these things had an affect? Or do you have any other ideas as to what the problem could be?
Thanks
Carter
