Hi,
My dog attacked my 8 week old beautiful, sweet silkie chick today. I am a first time chicken owner and am devastated. We found her shortly after the attack sitting with dozens of displaced feathers, not moving like she was dead. We picked her up and examined her and can't find any injuries. However, she's not eating or drinking and has just been sitting. We have seen her take a few steps, so it doesn't appear that there is anything broken (to the naked eye). She was "nodding off" while she was in my lap, and I'm scared there is something really wrong with her.
What can I do to make her better? I was going to take her to a vet, but there are none nearby that are open. Should I go buy some vitamins or electrolytes and feed her with a dropper? What are the signs of internal injuries on a chicken?
I appreciate anybody's help!
