My teenage orust was attacked by a hawk just now. She was still alive when I got to her, but I'm not sure she still is or if she'll make it. I've washed her off and put her on a heating pad with a blanket. There are no major gouges or deep wounds, though there are some serious abrasions. Is there anything more I can do for her? I've got a decent chicken pharmacy downstairs. :(

I have a young barred Wyandotte pullet that has recently developed what looks like an abscess on her cheek. I noticed the swelling in her cheek about 3 days ago, I originally thought that it might be an infected wasp sting, so I applied antibiotic ointment to the swollen area for a few days with no improvement... I have a friend who is a veterinarian, with his own personal clinic, so I took her to him and he had no idea what it was (he does not specialize in chickens) though he gave her an injection of epinephrine in hopes of it reducing the swelling as well as some erythromycin to help her eye because the swelling had begun block it, and a foamy clear liquid was coming out, he also recommended that that we give a very small (1/2 ml) dose of children's benedryl in case it was some kind of allergic reaction.

It has not gotten any better and I do not know what to do, I called a veterinary clinic in my area today and they recommended a cold compress because the lump on her cheek is very hard, but not hot, so we do not think that it is an infection. Her eye is almost completely swollen shut now. Other than this, she seems to be incredibly healthy and has no other symptoms.

If anyone has any ideas of what it could be or how to treat it please let me know

I have a 10 week old pullet that one of my broody hens hatched and I just noticed 3 days ago that she was having trouble with her left wing and left leg, I then realized that the feathers from her wing were stuck around her leg so I removed them and it seemed to be better but when I went back out that night, she was on the floor and had flipped onto her back and could not stand up again. She has been separated out to try and rest her legs, but I have seen no improvement and now both of her legs and wings are weak and she cannot walk. The left leg is still worse than the right and she will lay down and stick it out to the side, we have felt up and down her leg and it doesn't seem to be broken, but more tender right where the scales meet feathers on her leg. She feels really hot and whenever we pick her up both of her legs just shake, we think that she might have a fever. Her wings are also weak and she can't seem to keep them tucked up.
