I had scalped squabs before also. I cleaned the wound with just a salt water solution and used a Polysporn Ointment without any dressing to treat the problem. In time the squabs made a complete recovery and you were unable to detect the injury. Of course every case is not the same.other pigeons scalped both of them
I feel the odds are on your side.
Most squabs to not survive the initial attack.
All the BYC post to date give solid advice.
