Emergency Please Help *Update on Prolapsed Vent *

she is a 6 month old silkie. This is her first egg. um the sac looks like it encompasses the entire egg. im not sure if i should push it back in or what.....

That looks like prolapsed vent. Here's some information from a old thread. Isolate her so the other chickens won't peck at it. Keep her in a dim area to minimize stress. You can use sugar, honey, prep H and push the prolapse gently back in. If treating at home isn't working a vet will be needed quickly. Read the instructions in the thread (especially dlhunicorns post) and you can use BYC search. search keywordprolapse in topics only in the emergency forum. I just looked and there are 5 pages of posts about prolapse, with several good threads.

That sure looks painful. I agree with the other post that said to soak in warm water. Keep lube on the tissue - if it dries, it dies. I would assume the same thing meaning it got shuffled away from the opening and needs to be redirected. Good luck.
 
Well we are taking her to the vet culling is not an option. She is our pet.
