One of my baby reds around 2-3 weeks old is having her tail feathers plucked out and now has a bloody butt. she is the only one with tail feathers it may be her i've seen her pecking around it but my girlfriend noticed another chick pecking at it while she was sleeping. her and another baby have been seperated from the others at the moment. What do i do????

I'm surprised no one has mentioned blu kote (sp?). It will hide the red from the other chick and make the sore area less inviting.

Haven't had to use it yet, but I found it at the feed and seed near me (really small town; nearest TSC is 120miles). It's a smallish bottle, about the size of a bingo dauber, and it comes with it's own dauber...

It's a medicated liquid that also dyes the area blue so the other chicks don't peck at it...

Oh please go in more detail and where can i get this???

I buy the spray bottle for my grown girls, so I just spray it in a paper plate and apply with a q-tip. Also, a red light reduces the odds of pecking. Just in case you are using a white light...

ETA: your local feedstore should have it
