I am so sorry it almost sounds like poisoning could something been dropped or thrown into your yard that she could have gotten hold of.? Neighbors who hate animals or have complained? just trying to help figure out what could have happened. It really doesn't sound like she is going to make it. Putting her in a quiet place is probably best at this point. I sure wish I could help.Amiga- I will get some activated charcoal but she will not drink at all. I tried holding her bill in the water and she showed no sign of drink response.
Miss Lydia- No to the dropping. We only pick them up to take them out of or put them into the brooder. I did both those today and everything went smoothly.
Just a few minutes ago she went from unconscious to total panic stricken in a blink of an eye. She was quacking shrilly and threw herself out of the box and then went back to being totally out of it. She is also now flinching at any noise but not 'awake'. We have moved her to a cat carrier and into my bedroom where its dark and quiet. I just don't know what to do for he
I sure wish I had some answers.Every one of you have helped just by being supportive. Thank you.
Our neighbors are great people who are excited about our ducks and geese. Anything unusual in our yard we definitely would have noticed, my husband keeps the grass clipped regularly and we are outside with them the whole time they are out. If it is poisoning it must be a weed that I missed. Tomorrow we are removing all the weeds that are not dandelions. The weird, and lucky, thing is the other 2 ducklings and the 2 goslings are fine. They all browse together.
Thank you guys also for asking all the questions, it is helping me work through all the possible scenarios.
eta: No to the rat poison.
