Hello all,
We are to expect power outages in victoria Australia soon due to lines coming down in storms.
What can I do to try and save my eggs in the incubator? Anything at all? I do not have a generator.
Many thanks for any advice you could give.

Heating up a couple jugs of water and placing them on either side of the incubator with a blanket over the top should help. Some people put stones inside their incubators because they hold warmth longer but if you're saying this could happen at any moment I wouldn't do anything that opens the incubator and just focus on trying to keep it from losing heat if you do lose power.

Do you know how long your power will be down? This may sound crazy, but when my incubator gave out with duck eggs in it, my daughter and I took turns holding the eggs along with some hot baked potatoes under a blanket... most of them made it.

If and when the power does go out wrap the incubator in foil and towels to keep the heat in. Just be sure to unplug it first, plug back in when the power is back on. (Seen someone do this on youtube and the eggs still hatched). Depends how long the power is off for . Hot water bottles that arnt too hot!???

Warm some microwave gel packs and put them in there just before the power goes out, if you can. And don’t open it after!!!
