My Rhode Island Red, Chocobo, has developed a lump on her chest.
It is soft on the bottom but hard at the top.
She went into molt a week ago, since then she has been exhausted and not eating.
I thought it was a combination of the molt and the heat, and treated her for such.

Vitamins, protein drinks/soft food, electrolyte drinks, a cool bath, and A/C.
She got better that day, but it just became progressively worse again.

In the past week she has developed the lump, and lost half her weight.
EDIT: Lump is on her chest on the right side.
Her stats:
Age:3 years
Weight: 2 pounds (Avg. 5 pounds) Weight was lost in one week.
Temp: 108 degrees F (Avg. 106)
Vent: Clear
Combs/Waddles: Pale Pink and drooping (Avg. Red)
Breathing: Normal
Eyes: Clear and focused (when awake)
Feathers: Molting, but otherwise good condition
Poop: Very little/ runny
Eggs:None
Activity/Energy: Very low (going on 2 weeks now).
Eating/Drinking: Has to be forced fed (Syringe) until she eats a little on her own.

Flock Stats:
Healthy, active, alert, crops full

Currently not willing to stand for long, and sleeps on and off throughout the day. Brief moments of alertness. Had to be picked up out of nest box this morning, flockmates kept a close eye on her and called for us.
She has very little muscle definition, and her ribs are easily visible.

I now have her separated from the flock, she is being kept in the house in a cat carrier with food, drink, and medicine. ( baby Ibuprofen half tab crushed and dissolved in drink (8oz), administered every 2 -3 hours (1oz)).

She is normally kept outside with the flock.
The hen house (3ft x 4ft x 6ft)has pine litter and is cleaned every 3-4 days.
Water tank filled.
Feeder is half full.

There are no vets near me who can treat chickens, the closest is a 2 hour drive and is expensive ($$$) for visit.

I am doing what I can from home, please help.

Will post pics later.

The lump is on her right pectoral/chest
She hasn't been walking, she just stands slightly for a little bit.
Is it possible for you to cut all the feathers off around it to see if there's any puncture wound, scab, or a thin area of skin? I've had chickens get abscesses after only getting a foxtail seed stuck in their feathers and getting to their skin. If it's got one of those you might want to try lancing it.

Can you post a picture of the lump? It does sound like the crop, that is normally on the lower right side of the chest.

What you've got on your hands is called impacted crop. Give her 1.875mL of red wine 2 times daily in a syringe until it goes away. Also make sure to take out her food and give a water with ACV in it!

Update: I found a specialist in birds and farm fowl nearby, the test should that her gizzard was swollen to 4x's the normal size. It was crushing her other organs, and had become toxic. She was too weak to survive any medication or surgery due to rapid muscle loss. They euthanized her this past wednesday, I am still upset by it. They gave her a survival rate of 4%. I feel like I let her down. Turns out the lump was the crop becoming toxic...

I'm so sorry for your loss, Chocobo had a good and long life and I'm glad you kept fighting for her and I'm sure she was to.
