I have 2 little light sussexes with a pekin mum, and they are at the ugly stage where their fluff is gone. Today, I got home and one of them had absolutely nothing on his head, the skin was raw, and there was dried blood on his neck feathers underneath. When I very softly touched it, it was squidgy like a soft blister, and I think the skin was quite thin in some places. I did try to separate him from mum, but he was going mad so I let him back with her very soon after I took the pictures. They have been in their secure run all day and it wasn't like this this morning, him and his brother/sister are too young to fight that bad, it could only have been his mum, but they seem fine now. Silly me I'm so unorganized I can't even remember how old they are, so I don't know if he can live without heat if I have to separate them. Please help!!
