EMERGENCY - TRYING TO HELP A FRIEND

I would use human B complex which has riboflavin to help curled toes and other vitamin b deficiencies. I would consider using a sling for the pullet to get her upright and in front of food and water. Here is a good link for slings especially the first 2 pages:

There is a blood test on a live chicken collected from trimming a toenail too short that can be sent off to RAL labs in TX. You would need to call them and get the test supplies here:

I think U of GA also may offer a similar test. Most people get testing for Mareks when a bird dies, and the body is sent to the state vet lab for a necropsy. Here is a list of state vets to contact about that:

Do you think is could be Marek's or does it seem to be something else in your opinion? I am looking through the sling/chair videos/photos to figure out my best plan of action. She is in a closet with supplemental heat. So I could make a hanging sling or something self standing....I was thinking maybe a milk crate and a T-shirt but wasn't sure how to get food and water bowls secured and if they would be in the right positions for her to use easily. She is a bantam so I have to take that into consideration as well

Is it hot there? The symptoms may be fro dehydration and overheating. I would give water with electrolytes and extra sugar for shock. One teaspoon sugar in one cup water with electrolytes. It won't hurt to do it regardless of the weather.

Yes it was hot here. But would she still be acting this way 4-5 days later?

Are tremors seen with thiamine deficiency as well?

And how long does it take to see improvements or know when the treatment is working or other options should be considered?
It can affect nerve connections. Giving B-complex is safe to do as it's hard to overdose on them. Whatever is most convenient. All those would work.

It won’t hurt to give some vitamin E 400 IU in a softgel daily. The B complex has large amounts of thiamine, riboflavin (b2,) and all others. 1/4 to 1/2 tablet is plenty, and can be crushed into a spoonful water or food. Mareks could be possible as symptoms can occur from 5-6 weeks up to a year, and older. Hopefully, it is not that. The chicken sling link in my last post has many design suggestions. Here is a video from the link where food and water is attached:

Won't eat more than a few bites. I think it's getting too weak from not eating properly. I do not have a crop feeding tube but I do have a regular IV tube that I could possibly diy something. I think I may need to force feed or crop feed to keep her from declining? I read thiamine deficiency can also cause lack of appetite? I have crop fed baby parrots before and cockatiels but never a chicken. Is it similar? How would I diy something?

This shows where the esophagus leading into the crop is. Insert a feeding tube as you see this insertion of a syringe. It will prevent any fluids from getting aspirated.

When I have a very weak chicken, I mix a raw egg, a little warm water, a teaspoon of sugar and a squirt of Poultry Nutri-drench and push about half a cup of it into the crop. It can perk a chicken right up.
