2 years later and here I am dealing with the same issue my littlest baby girl (fuzzy wuzzy) got into the big coop and at least one of my apparent cannibal birds savagly ripped her skin from her head, I found her laying behind a nesting box I thought she was dead. Then I noticed she was breathing so I brought her in rinsed her off applied neosporin and a bandage until I could read up on what to do and ran to my moms for some asprin.... looks like so far I didnt do too bad but I am almost out of neosporin and dont get paid for two days was wondering if petroleum jelly might help to keep the area from drying out? She is here inside with me and her head was so bad the bandage has to cover her eyes to get the entire area covered I gave her some acv/water mix with her asprin just to help hydrate and I show her to her water every few hours and shes drinking.... I cant believe shes even still moving around, im not posotive shes gonna make it but shes right here with me until we figure that out. Thank you all for such good advice and information, any extra help would be wonderful and id like to know sir if your roo made it or not? I read on another post several people have made it through this and the poor dears healed up. Was hoping that's more than a best case scenario and is indeed quite common.
