Hi Emma glad u joined I'm also from Ireland up by donegal u have a nice little collection of cattle what breed r they?Hi There.
My name is Emma, I live in Ireland. In the last few years I have started to get an interest in farming, Thanks to my partner. He has 7 cattle, we have 3 chickens and 6 ducklings.
I have owned chickens for 3 years now. I have 3 Ancona hens, that lay everyday! I have recently bought an incubator and hatched my first few ducklings. They are only a day old, they are a Khaki/Silver mix.
My favorite thing about raising farm animals is that we are producing our own food while gaining an understanding of how each animal behaves, thinks, etc. One day, we'd love to have our own farm, off grid, making and producing our own food to feed or family.
I joined this community to learn more about chickens/ducklings, how to care for them, sickness, hatching and any other problems that may arise.
I came across BYC by looking for tips on hatching/imcubating and found it very helpful. I hope my experiences can help someone else!!
Looking forward to chatting with you.
Emma

It is good to see you!Welcome Emma, I am in Ireland also. I moved from California to Cavan last year with my husband who is from here. I had chickens for several years in California but am only starting my flock here now. What kind of chickens do you have?
We are planning to get some cattle at some point also, probably Irish Moiled which is a local heritage breed.
