At day 7 you shouldn't be able to see into the egg, or nearly unable. It would be a few days shy of being nearly half way through the incubation process. If fertile, it would be dark, except for the aircell. Those two are infertile.
With Coturnix eggs by day 4 or 5, you should be able to see the embryo developing and veining.
