employment frustrations- what should I do? rant

I sincerely hope you will find a new job. I am in the same boat. 2 years I have worked here and it was nothing but lies. I was told (in writing) when I was hired I’d make x-amount of money, get 3 weeks paid vacation after 2 years, get 401k, etc. Never did get an extra 1 of vacation after I lived through this hell for 2 years. I got an extra day. Wohoooo. Never did receive my 401k either. Nor did I receive my raise that was promised last November. Spent the past 2 years coming up with excuses why we cannot ship product. Same excuses for the same customers for 2 years gets old. Company is out of money, cannot pay their vendors but keep on hiring people that are not there for the customers, but to make it harder for the customers to order product. I have never seen a company so keen on putting themselves out of business- all over management egos. I am looking around but it is pretty bleak over here. Maybe something will come up. Just keep up the good work, take every day as it comes. Remember, every day is a little bit more money in your paycheck that you can use to pay down bills

It is always easier to get a job, when you have a job. I just went back to work after being unemployed for 2 1/2 years. I make minimum wage, work random 8 hour shifts and have A LOT to do on my task list each shift. But it is 7 miles from home and at least, for now it is money coming in. I am still sending out resumes hoping something a bit more in line with what I am used to doing will come along.

Good Luck, hoping the interview goes well and is a better environment for you, sometimes a little peace is worth giving up a few pennies

I have seen this happen many times over my many years in Customer Service. Companies have lost sight of the fact that "Customers" keep their businesses , "in business"
Customer Service is becoming non-existent, a lot of companies have taken to just hiring "a warm body" to answer a phone, no matter if they have skills to drive the business or not....... very sad for someone like myself , who has always prided myself on Excellent Customer Service to see this happening more and more.

Hope you can find a place deserving of your talents.

Thank you so much lockedhearts. It is frustrating to me since I was there from day 1 when the company first opened doors. I worked for 2 years to get a good reputation in with our dealers, made sure that problems were addressed properly, things got done. The new management took it over about 6 months ago and managed to destroy what took us 2 years to built. All the new people they hired don’t even know the names of our dealers, they just know them by order number. If I insist on calling them by name I get reprimanded. I will toughen it out as long as I can and look around in the meantime. But sure is sad to see a good idea get destroyed by too much management. I hope you too will find something nice soon. I have been doing a lot of work on LinkedIn, that may be something that might help you.

Well, we do have all our departments spread all over kingdom come. But I don’t think Virginia is part of it. I am still trying to come up with a creative way to work from home but so far I have not been too creative

Thanks for the good wishes.

Another one of my co workers told me this morning that she is "done" and is looking as well. although she has the ability to just leave, since she lives with family and has no mortgage etc. I spoke with my mom over the weekend. She told me that if it comes to my health or this place that she will help with any bills I have as long as I need the help. Which is good, since open enrollment begins Friday. The temps they have starting are just beginning training and I plain out refuse to take CCA calls. If they put me in the que for CCA I will walk. I do not get the money or the respect from managment here to do more than they already have me doing.

If/whn I get another job I will give proper notice. And get my members set.. but I will not look back.

Oh.. the temps they have hired? Monday morning one of the managers is laughing "Look at them... they have no idea what they are in for" Yeah... if they did they would be running from the buiding screaming
