From what I've read they are close to 10 inches tall at hatch! Yep that is a regular hova bator still air bator...he's been incubated in there from the begginning! Oh and it is day 49!

This is by far one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile. Sometime in the future I really want to incubate an emu egg or two just to expirence. What do you feed the chick?
Thanks and whats happening?!?!? lol

42 days???? You are one patient little Mamma! I can't wait to see the little guy. Did you have to keep it at a different temp????

Ps I'm still not cleaning but I almost have one load ready for the washer:) Good luck with your house too, I imagine you won't get much done today though. Even with regular ole chickens I have to just sit and watch them the whole day after they are born. They are all just soooo cute!

That is an understatement! Wow, is all I can say. Are you incubating in a styrofoam incubator?

I used to own an ostrich ranch and had hundreds of ostrich. I knew many people that had Emu's and they incubate very similar to ostrich. We had our own incubation facility and hatching them are much more difficult than chickens!

The little ones are extremely cute and will be the size of a chicken in a couple of weeks!

Great job!
