Emu Egg Hatch-along

Pics
Hey @MGG, I followed an emu hatch along a while ago, and the OP put a .22 casing on top of her egg to watch for wiggles. Kinda weird, I know, but her point was that it's much easier to see the .22 casing move than the egg. I'm not sure if you have those lying around, but any tiny object you could balance on top of the egg would probably work too.
I do, I'll try that! Thanks Abby.
I swear my eyes start to wig out staring at it for so long
I tried my stethoscope too but couldn't hear anything.

Hey emu egg hatchers - I have two eggs packaged to send if anyone wants them. One was a collected a few days ago, one was picked up yesterday. Our mating pair hatched four last year. I can't know for sure these are fertile but they should be as they are still mating and trying to get a clutch. Both eggs are about a pound. I was going to send them to someone today for the price of shipping USPS but it fell through - it happens! But since they're ready to go, if I hear from someone today I can send them this afternoon or tomorrow. I'd expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $25-30 USPS priority based on sending one which was about $18.

Wow @FNF that is soooo nice of you!!! I certainly would take them! However I’d rather let @MGG have a chance to get them first, if desired! They deserve a chance to hatch again!!!

However, please let me know if someone else who was already hatching emus doesn’t take them, I would LOVE to attempt to hatch them.

Aw, thanks! They actually were for me originally, but some things came up and I'm not going to be able to get them right now. I really wish I could though! If you get them please post a bunch on here about them! Then I can live vicariously through you, haha.

@FNF let me know that you couldn’t take them, so it looks like I am going to get them!!! I am sooooo excited. Thank you @MGG for this thread - I had always really wanted to attempt Emu incubation but this thread renewed my desire 🥰 I will keep posting on this thread!! And hopefully @Strawberry74 and I can have some babies close in age 💕💕

Yes please please please post updates on here about them! And definitely keep using this thread!
Of course! I've wanted an emu as long as I can remember so it was very fun to at least get a shot. I hope I'm able to try again in the near future! Emus are awesome birds. Fingers crossed for you that they hatch!

Maybe my egg still has a shot, who knows. I'm not hopeful really at all but it's on day 40 today. Still no signs of life but no stinking either. I'll give it another 10 days or so and see what happens.
I hope Strawberry's egg surprises her! Maybe mine will do the same thing 🤞
