Yeah your telling me. Today I found my kids second grade class is watching in class.

That is pretty cool, though!

Yeah it is cool. They stopped watching the eagles on ustream to watch the emu eggs. Hopfully they will see a chick tomorrow. I'm going to help them hatch chics this spring in the room.

luvducks is the pic on your avatar a call duck? It's very cute.

Yes that is a Call Duck. He was the first Call I hatched from shipped eggs. He was the only one that hatched out of 6 eggs so brooded with baby chicks. He has bonded with the chicken group so I leave him there. I am donating some eggs to our little Community School also. I am going to let them hatch some Silkie/Cochin cross eggs because those seem to pop out with no problem. I want the children to get a nice hatch. Right now I am busy WAITING FOR AN EMU to hatch! Ha Ha Every time I see a new post on this thread I hurry to read it in case there was a new developement. Heard Emu noises yesterday.

The camera was down when I woke this morning. Back up now. Today is day 54.

The egg is making more noises and seems to be wiggling a bit more this morning. Man I hope today is the day.

I keep hearing a clicking noise that I thought was the chick peeping. I think it is the thermastat clicking on and off.

I have been listening to this at work for the last few days and sort what has been keeping me going. I would hear it click and I would think the chick is still ok. Well now I will just know the incubator is working.

Yeah I guess up to 56 days. Most of what I read said 48-52 days but I did find a few refferances saying they can go to 56 days.

I can't wait another few days. This is just like having a new born. I keep getting up at night and checking on it.
