Emu Hatching Eggs

I was looking to buy 2 or 3 emu hatching eggs, and I was wondering if anyone knew any breeders.

I'm in Washington, and I would buy from ebay but I don't like the distance factor because a lot of the breeders I saw were way in the south.

Seems like all the eggs on Ebay right now are from California, probably your best bet unless someone else answers you on the forum here.

I know a private breeder that is located in central washington. I could pm you her information, if you'd like.
She has emu's mostly for their natural products (feathers and stuff) but she has sold me 2 eggs once before, in the early spring.

aea-emu.org/ American Emu Association Website is a good place to find Breeders. There are MANY emu farmers in WA. Just let me know where in WA you are located I can connect you with a great breeder near you!

I'm a little outside Spokane.
Which is too bad because it seems most of the emu breeders I have seen are over on the west side of Washington.

Don't be discouraged, I had two eggs go 1,300 miles over the course of three days to get to me and both produced chicks so the distances you're talking about mind as well be just next door. They're very hardy eggs when packaged well, if they're willing to ship, go for it!

Rapture ...you are right, all depends how and who handles them roughly.
My friend had 2 Rhea eggs sent just 20 miles, well packed big strong box, but box was badly damaged and both eggs cracked...no good. If eggs get badly handled and even drop box, membrane can break and become infertile....specially with smaller poultry eggs, I have seen this happen several times, just carelss posties. even with red Fragile tape all over box.
Same time I sent 2 Rhea eggs to Cyprus and Portugal from UK and in both cases arrived safe and hatched. Airmail is safest.

Actually there is a Long standing emu farmer in Spokane..... One of the pioneers in EMU. His name is Dennis he hatches about 40+ chicks a year and sells eggs as well. He is a extremely helpful and knows everything there is to know about emu and birds. His website is http://ancientmagic.net/ and his phone # is on his site.
