So, give me the scoop on emus....what do they eat? are they tame or wild? I keep thinking it might be neat to have some, but then I see those long legs and talons and worry that I might get disemboweled one day!

I raised mine from chicks, so they are tame. If you are interested in them I would def. get chicks and raise them around you and your other critters. They make better pets that way. They are VERY VERY Curious birds and love anything shiny, colorful etc. They will pick at anything like that, so you need to keep that in mind. They are SUPPOSE to eat emu food or turkey grower, but mine want the horse's sweet feed & catfish food pellets, dog food etc. They can jump, so having a sturdy fence at least 5 ft is a must. They need shots like horses, but all and all are easy to care for. They love water and mine love attention.
