Emu pictures and stories.... post them here

I am having a most difficult time trying to find a treat food that my Emu chicks like. They are 2&3 mo. Old. Would love to have something they crave.
Any ideas out there, ( Have tried raisins, grapes, Apple, squash, lettuce, oats, dog food, cat food.....
They eat their regular food but I am looking for a treat to help intiese them to follow me.

most of them love grapes...ours love them, figs and plums that fall off the trees but some of them just don't take to any kind of treat at all.
I think you will find, if you want them to follow you around, that they WILL do that while you're carrying the feed bucket too.

careful with that kiddie pool..the bottom can be very slippery and they can hurt their legs that way.

I love reading the stories , videos and pics of the emus. I would love to have some but I live in the city and that is not possible.

Random photos of Eric and some chicks of his. The female just above is a geniune 'double alpha' emu (as is Eric); but she's three years missing, presumed dead. Her sister Felicity is roosting nearby tonight.

Hey, Jc! I will never be well enough to resume 'formal' observations. Meanwhile, though, patchy 'informal' observations continue simply because the same emus I tamed eight years ago continue to come and go here. Eric and Mrs Eric the Third were here over winter, but gone now. Felicity turned up for spring -- she loves spring here, with the plentiful Cape Weed flowers. Number One was here last autumn, so she's alive and well.

Gonna assume that we've lost Greedy: it's now three years since we saw her.

And other wild birds still come and go.

Heartbreaking.about Greedy but maybe a greener pasture? You just don't know. Felicity always stole my heart.
Wilds...They will and do so. I so envy what you can observe. And appreciate what you are able to share with us, thank you.
I have the space, the pastures. I just feel we are not ready yet, I want 100% safe before they come here.
