I emailed the woman there and this is what she said about Emu's in MA -
"Mass has had emu listed as Exotic animals and required a permit from the Fish and Wildlife dept. however, last year that was in the process of changing and Fish and Wildlife pretty much said they were done with it. Im not sure of the exact status right now but I will be looking into it for this springs hatch.
What is imperative is strong 6 foot fencing. We dont want these birds wandering especially on highways. We sell the chicks in the spring for $150.00 each. If you would like to have eggs which are delicious you would want a male and female. If you just want one as a pet and promise to give him lots of attention a male would be your best bet.
I would suggest that you set up an appointment to visit the farm this spring. We will hatch from late April till the end of May."
Her name was Dee Dee, very nice woman, and I believe her email is on the website if you are interested in getting some from her.
