Enablers.....I'll get you my pretties!

AZchickadee, I think I saw that fluffy butt pic too. I sure wish it were mine. I can't remember where I saw it, darn.

I have a pic of our girls where all their butts are in the air, but only one set of "bloomers" is visible...

Here's a good bloomer shot:

My husband thinks I'm INSANE when I comment how cute the little butts are! (I have an EE with a spotted butt - its CUTE dang it)

Anyhoo - here I am, also under-dressed with just 14 chickens.... and planning on how I can buy an incubator and sneak that past the bank manager....

I think I'm going to go with the whole "educating the children" thing............ That'll work....

Be careful what you wish for.....My husband sounded like you and now all our snow has melted and instead of snow he's fighting mud up to his you-know-what when we do cow chores!!!!!

I love being out in the snow which just aggrevates him even more!!!

AZchickadee, I'm so glad that's the one! It's at the bottom (no pun intended) of my Buff Orp breed page section of my Personal Page website. It's called, "The Ends".

Yeah- I know- after the season of snow comes the season of mud- That 's why we start calving at the end of January. We'd rather thaw calves out than drown them in the mud!

Buff Hooligans- thanks for the info. I'll be expanding slowly over the next few years. Maybe I'll get a coop for BO's and other gentle chickens. My NHRs are pretty ruthless- they may lose their heads if they keep tearing out my SF roo's feathers!

It might well be frozen. I'm getting tired of feeding cows in 2 feet of blowing and drifting snow.

If I got BO chickens, would they mix well w/ my existing flock? I'm ordering a whole list of chicks in the spring to see which I like best (just one each- don't want to overdo it). Are you ready for it? Here goes:
Barnevelder, Maran, Welsummer, Australorp, Barred Rock, Leghorn, Partridge Wyandotte, and Ameraucana (3 of those- my son LOVES the green eggs!).
How would a BO fare mixed in w/ these plus my existing birds?
