Encouragement for New Hand Quilters! My VERY First Quilted Item (humiliating myself here, LOL)

Yes, I could! But the question is "should I?"

Far be it from me to stop your fun, LOL!

Piecing another similar wallhanging. Seminolewind, do you like this one so far? I may need help picking a border since I don't have anymore of that pretty dark green print I used on the first one.

Here it is, without the last border:

Cynthia, I trust your color choice. I loved the one you just did. (Hot pink is not a good choice, neither is lime green, LOL)

I'm sure your choice will go with the rest of the colors nicely!

Oh yea, YES I love it so far!!!!!

That's okay, not much hot pink or lime green in my stash anyway!

I'll have to play around with what I have in the browns and greens. If nothing suits me, I'll buy a piece somewhere that is similar to the border on the first one, if I can find one.

I think I may have to buy something for the final border. Nothing I have here seems to work with this like that lovely dark green print. I'm about ready to applique something over the center block because it looks too gray when I see it in the picture. In my dark house, in person, it looks more brown and goldish than grayish. I could do that, though-it would be easier than dismantling the entire thing. What I could do is quilt a design on a square with batting, then applique that onto the center afterward, so that it would actually raise up some-now there's a thought! That may be a good way to go. I'm not liking the grayish cast to that center square, though the fabric is pretty.

Here are some examples of what I do have, but I really don't like any of them for this:

Oh, I found the PERFECT border at the quilt shop in town on their discount shelf-which is the only fabric I can buy in that place, sheesh, expensive! Here it is-the picture doesn't do it justice. It's scrumptious!
