ENDED Coop Page Contest 2011 - Win BYC Store Gift Certificate

Ok... I updated my page to be more of a coop page... if you can get past the photos of my girls.

Thanks for checking it out! At the very least, scroll to the last photo as I am very proud of the result!

Hubby took one look at it, and asked if it had a/c also. LOL

Loved reading the story to go along with the pics... Great coop, just wish I had the $$ and help you did to put it together. (and carpentry experience would probably help too)

So... my 'hoop coop' is working well, the only addon needed are some hook eyes to attach some rope handles to for easy moving (2 people required).

My large coop is still in the planning, so I'm disassembling a ton of pallets in the mean time, gathering cheap/free materials as I can. Windows will be the louvered variety, since we have a 'dead' camper to disassemble sometime down the road. (Hubby wants to use the frame to make a 'mobile ham shack' for emergency communications when needed. **I happen to agree with the plan 8) **)

Great coops everyone! Mine isn't built yet so I'll probably have to wait for the 2012 contest! I'll have to make the coop nice enough so that when DH throws me out of the house, I can live in it!!! Lol

Now I have to go to Michaels for a cute wooden rooster, Home Depot for boot trays, search numerous catalogs for ventilation fans, automatic doors, nipple waterers, etc. I'm so addicted!!!!! I hope you are all happy!!!! But seriously, wonderful job and I pray that all of you will have many, many years of happy and healthy chickens, etc. God Bless you all!!!

WOW allot of you guys have coops I would pay to stay in on vacation lol, I have mine on another post but I'll put it here to. It's not much to look at cause we just converted an old shed using recycled materials, but the chickens love it!!

Just getting my pages started but here is the begging as I was interrupted -

Here is a link to my Coop page in progress...it has a link to my Flickr page for the pictures so far. Hopefully I can finish before the contest is over....either way I just want to share - and will continue to update as I finish etc.
contest or not WHEW...glad it done for now...

any feedback on the girls would be cool in a message if you think any look like a Roo in particular or REALLY unlike their indicated breed as in very impurely bred....

but we were looking at some VERY FINE coops to purchase and finally built up the confidence to build ours thanks to "all y'alls" pics...really seeing how many people have been able to get up and do for themselves is inspiring on other levels - I can take that in many socio-political directions with sincereity...it can be frustrating in the world, at times, "doing your own thing" - but as a group and a force....you see people really CAN take care of them selves IF THEY WANT TO....

I'm proud of the defects and imperfections in my unnamed as of now coop....(painted in an aptly named Liberty Blue colonial stain from Minwax...)how about the LIberty Coup d' etat ?!?!?
