energy bars

my neighbor has 2 old feral chickens. he is convinced that feeding them an energy bar everyday is what keeps them laying eggs. could that be true? i've heard about cayenne pepper, but energy bars???

I doubt it. We've had chickens that laid for 10+ years. Granted they slowed down in their old age, but you could still get 2-3 eggs a week out of them up until the end.
