In march i got my first chicks ever at a local feed store and they get their chicks from a hatchery. I got 9 buff orpingtons. One rooster and 8 hens. I began selling hatching eggs and chicks. I am getting a lot of questions as to whether my birds are english buff orps or american. Whats the difference and how can i know for sure? I do not want mislead or misinformed customers. I am considering asking my feed store. I have been sharing photos with my customers so they can at least see for themselves what i have.

We have poor quality Orps here in the UK, which we class as having too tight feathering, more compact bodies and lack of pantaloons.

Our good quality Orps are giant floofballs of buffiness! I'll try and find a good pic for you to compare. I have no idea what American Orps are like, but you can always research the Breed Standard.

English orps are that more Puffy, round maybe, and more nice looking version, while Americans don’t have those qualities.myou have the Americans which are still nice, but are hatchery quality so you won’t able to sell the eggs for exactly as much as u could if they where English.
