They're advertised as fertile. Here's what the carton looks like...

I've read so much about putting the eggs back in cartons for hatching when you take them out of the turner. I'm very anxious to see this . . . hope you can get lots of pics! Thanx for Sharing! Happy Hatching!!

really?

I feel jealous~ I bet other whole food stores have these fertile eggs. Well off to google search,LOL

I'm sure other whole foods will offer eggs ala carte in the produce section. But they will be local eggs that they get from a local producer...so you'll have to find out where they get them from, and what kind of hens they use. I got lucky that I ran into this woman on the backyard chicken coop tour and we happened to be interested in the same kind of chickens and got to talking. I still only have the one poor hen, with no same breed friends. She's surrounded by Standard Cochins, and Delawares, and Phoenix. Through talking she let slip that she was the supplier for that particular store.

Now with my luck that's changed and I'll end up with a bunch of Rhode Island reds or something! LOL

Eggcellent . . . and right on schedule! Thanx so much for all the very informative pics. I'm sure the egg carton itself must absorb alot of the RH - any way to calculate that differential? I wonder what you would need to raise the RH to if you used styro or clear plastic egg cartons? BTW, exactly what model incubator are you using?
