One of our 9 week old speckled sussex chicks has an enlarged crop. It feels like a water balloon. It is for sure getting larger. She does have access to chick grit. She is on medicated chick food. Is there anyway I can help her?
Thank you everyone! I will have to take a picture when I get home tonight. I did take the food away and left the water but unfortunately she did have access to chick grit. She ate A LOT of the grit and now I can feel it in her crop. On a positive note, her crop did look smaller. I also had to take the bedding out and put towels down because she is eating the bedding. Is that normal when food is taken away? Any suggestions on how and when I should reintroduce food?
