One last question - can you get the stuff out?

Not without extraordinary measures with overwhelming odds against having a positive outcome. Extreme financial input, with the most probable outcome being death from anesthesia, followed by death on the operating table, followed by additional infection from surgery ultimately resulting in death. I hate to be the 'Negative Nancy', but the chances of a hen surviving this type of surgery is exceptionally slim.
