Where is your coop from? I keep seeing a few models like that online but it's hard to tell how they will look in person. Can you share the model & where you purchased it?

You need to ask people where they got this "rule of thumb" for four square feet per bird. BYC is a forum, and not a regulating authority. Most people seem to view their chickens as pets.

it looks like the coop part is about 3 x 3.5 = 10.5 sq. ft of space...you can probably be fine with 4 bantams. if you add the 2 LF the space might get tight.

we are doing a coop of 5 x 4 (x 4 ft tall) and run of 5 x 11 x (6 tall) and built it so it could fit 7-8 bantams or 4-5 LF. we wanted it big enough so if we went on vacation they would not go nuts if they did not get to free range for a few says.
