This is my first experience hatching and I definately agree it is a wonderful and horrible experience. I got SO excited when my little chick hatched..& who knows..maybe there'll be more from this hatch. In the future I will definatley try to keep my expectations lower. It was hard to do that with this hatch being that it was my first. Ill keep my fingers crossed that all your eggs have hatched!!

(& that maybe at least 1 more out of my 5 in the bator will!!) Good luck!

Hoping for the best for you!!! Hopefully some more will start to make their way into this world overnight/by morning!!!

I was just sick when we got home and my humidity was so low. I left and 2 were rocking and a 3rd started. No activity at all when we got home, so I was stoked when one of the original two rockers started back up tonight. I had my 3 and 5 yr olds in separate bathrooms - they wanted different modes of washing - so every time I walked through the kitchen to check on them, I had to check on the chicks. One had pipped on one of my passes, so I got the 5 yr old (it is an egg she staked claim to) and we bumped the box on accident. Then we heard really loud chirping as if it were saying "whoa! Who rocked the boat???" LOL I *think* I may have heard a faint peep - maybe (hopefully) from one that hasn't pipped yet.

I entered lockdown today at 10 am with 60 eggs in a homemade bator 6 oegb sdw roo x bb red hen bantams and the rest are blk minorcas and blk minorca x glw or slw ...so far I have 3 pips

Wow! Great news lorrir!

Cute chick Lroach!

I just got a third to pip. Yippeee. At present, the first two pipped eggs are being broadcasted on http://justin.tv/karmlacres

I'm
trying to see what I can do with justin.tv and see if I can set up a second live stream to get the other side of the bator. We have computers all over this house, so we'll be able to watch them everywhere. Last night, we had a camera on the eggs feeding directly to the bedroom tv. I swear I woke everytime they chirped!

Hoping everyone else with hatchings going on go well.

I have 5 chickies as of now. 3 are still in the bator. It was killing me, so I candled them. One looks suspiciously deceased. There is no liquid. I tap and peep at it and no movement. The other two still have liquid in them. Not sure if they are still alive. I couldn't detect any movement. I'm going to tap the "dry" one open a tad to see if I can see movement or hear anything. So sad as this is one that was rocking along at one point.
