entertaining chickens

Can anyone help ... i have heard from various people about putting cd's and footballs on strings attached to the top of the wire in the chickens run. We are in the process of making them a new bigger run and i was wondering what other suggestions people had of what to put in to keep them amused and alert as i am out at work for most of the day so they wont be able to wander around the garden as much as they would like.

Thank you that gives me loads of ideas... loving the one bout putting bells in their ... my cats already love watching chicken t.v. now they get to hear musical chicken t.v ... it could be the mtv of the chicken world

although one sudden movement from the chickens does result in three very brave cats running as quickly as they can away from the run !!!!
