Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
I used to work in an elementary school office. One day we had a parent who started to have an allergic reaction to something. After that, i always made sure I had Benadryl in my desk drawer, because that's what she asked for right when the reaction started.
